Onwards & Upwards

Since the release of Anomie or Swimming in a Black Sea, there’s been a bunch of awesome people listening to, writing about, and even buying, the album, which is all kinds of incredible – a big thanks to all who have been doing any of the above; there’s been some really lovely, carefully considered, positive reviews & feedback.

We now have a YouTube channel, which you can find here.

As well as reviews, there’s been a couple of features – click these words if you’d like to know Invisible Elephant’s Favourite Five, as featured on GoldFlakePaint.  Or click these ones to read an interview with the other half (okay, quarter) of Two Hands Music over at [sic] Magazine.

Finally, since the last update, here’s where Anomie has been reviewed or featured:

Friends In Cool Places

Today is the official launch date of our first release, Anomie or Swimming in a Black Sea by Invisible Elephant. All the pre-orders have shipped, so those who ordered a copy either will have received it, or will soon.

A big thanks to everyone who has supported the endeavour, listened to the album, bought it and/or helped to spread the word. The reaction so far has been quite positive, which is just great.

A couple of reviews of the album have been posted – the first over at [sic] Magizine, which you can read here, and also at Binge Cringe Whinge, which you can read here. An even bigger thanks goes out to Rob and Scott at those two sites for taking the time to listen and tell the world what they think.

If you’d like to grab a copy of the album, you can get physical copies from our web store, or digital copies via Bandcamp.

Thanks for listening!

Two Hands – Now One of Those Socially Awkward Types

So, as the release date of Anomie or Swimming in a Black Sea inches ever closer, we decided to get us one of those Facebook page, which will be handy for all the random little bits of information and news – if you like to keep moderately up to date with that sort of thing.

You can check us out here, and add your thumbs up if you won’t mind the very occasional bit o’ musically-inclined spam on your newsreel.

~ First Release Announced!

We’re pleased to announce that Two Hands’ first release is Anomie or Swimming in a Black Sea, the sophomore album for home-recording artist Invisible Elephant.

Anomie… follows 2010’s The Lights Go Out, originally self-released but soon picked up by Sonic Reverie for a CD release after gaining momentum in the blogging community, with favourable reviews¹ continuing to follow.

Both continuing and expanding on the ability to draw from genres as diverse as the instruments used, Anomie or Swimming in a Black Sea takes a more personal journey than that of the other-wordly The Lights Go Out.

In amongst the swirl or reverb, soft but sombre drones and light hearted pop, is a vast array of sounds that effect a continual shift in focus and perspective, recreating through music the sudden disproportionate size, shape and importance everything in the world takes on in the aftermath of heartbreak.

Stream the lead track for the new album righ here:

Anomie… will be released on the 15th of August in a strictly limited, handmade hardback-bound book edition, standard edition, and digital download. Pre-orders are available now, and will ship on the 6th of August.

You can visit MySpace for more information about Invisible Elephant. You can also stream or download The Lights Go Out on Bandcamp.

The Sound of Two Hands * Coming Soon!

July sees the official launch of Two Hands Music, a new independent label dedicated to finding music people want to hear, and releasing it with packaging people want to have.

Based in the UK and Australia, and with a diverse range of experience in the industry between the people behind the name, the foundation of THM is built on a very simple but determined premise – to get the music we release heard, and to package it in something music fans will appreciate, hence our slogan: Art, from our hands to yours.

We’re extremely excited about what the future may hold for Two Hands, and couldn’t be more proud about our first release – more details on that to follow very soon!
